Doula

Erica McCall Valentine has extensive doula training through DONA International.  In 2014, Erica was first trained by Tammy Ryan, an advanced certified doula and doula trainer through DONA International, Anchorage, Alaska.  Tammy is a childbirth educator,  midwifery assistant and one of six trainers world wide for Spinning Babies.  Then, in 2016 on Kodiak Island, Alaska, she participated in continued doula training by Sally Riley, who is also an an advanced certified doula and doula trainer through DONA International.  Sally is a founder and co-director of the Academy of Certified Birth Educators and has over 30 years of experience as a certified childbirth educator, certified breastfeeding educator, and practicing doula.

Infant Nutrition and Breastfeeding Support

In 2016, while working as an Infant Nutrition and Breastfeeding Support Counselor for Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center, Erica became a certified breastfeeding peer counselor through the State of Alaska.

Additional Credentials and Degrees

Erica also holds a Certificate in Ethnobotany (2019), a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology (1999), and  Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning (2002).  She is also a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance and working toward a certification to teach prenatal yoga.
